Details for Aion Open beta have been announced.

Open beta will be a week long starting on Sept. 6th and ending on Sept. 13th.
Pre selection (creating characters and choosing names and servers) will start on Sept 18th, and head-start will begin on Sept 20th For people that pre-order. If you pre-ordered or already had access to closed beta, you'll automatically get access to the open beta.

File planet will begin distributing open beta key on Sept 1st. I don't have any details on if you need to be a paid fileplanet subscriber or not.

The open beta will be Aion version 1.5 (previous closed beta events were version 1.0)
The open beta level cap will be 30. You can download the full Aion game client from fileplanet or by using bittorrent. If you already have the closed beta client installed, you can download the OB patch file instead.

Doooze. . . where you been buddy? As far as faction goes Asmodian all the way, as far as server goes we will have to wait till the live servers roll over. I haven't found anything that says beta (closed or open) will be the same once they go live, but I really haven't looked either.

This is suppose to be a confirmed partial list of the some of the servers that will be avail. They are indeed beta servers, which is the reason those named could be released/confirmed. The list was posted with the permission of NCsoft eastcoast (as the servers will be on the east coast) by a NCsoft rep, but we'll see exactly where it goes from here.

I played closed beta on zikel. When open beta starts more than likely i'll be on the same server unless we rally then it's whatever.

looks like only pre orderers and file planet subscribers can get into open beta. that blows. i remember when wow beta was up, all i did was download it and play lol

Yeah, seems like NCsoft made a deal with fileplanet, giving them exclusive open beta key distribution rights in exchange for hosting the mirrors. It makes sense for them to do that since NCsoft's updating servers were extremely slow.

Maybe Veritas still has access to a preorder key that he could give you?

OK, I preordered from gamestop and they immedialtely emailed my game id which allows to register the game and get in open beta. We NEED to make sure we all get on same server!!!!

What classes are you guys going to play? Im thinking assasin but i figure every1 will be that. So you guyz pick sumtin else haha

I play a templar and if I play something else it would be a ranger or a gladiator, but I'm not really sure how much I like the ranger. I'm going to play one during the open beta for a little bit to see how I like them. Aside from that templar all day so you don't have to worry about me stepping on your assasin spot :O

Ooh yea in terms of servers I play on zikel, so unless someone has another one or something better that's where i'll be. Me and some gamestop friends of mine.

Anyone able to give me any info on Clerics/Chanters? Was considering trying healing for a change if I do get into aion. Also found the Spiritmaster class to be rather attractive (imagine that!).

From what I've heard/seen and talked to other players about. The spirit master is a pretty cool class, however right now they don't have a scaled lvl 50 pet. So the last pet they get it is 40. The pets scale with you as you lvl, they get bigger more powerful all that jazz. Alot of the players are bumed out about not really having anything substantial for what is now lvl cap. As for the chanters and clerics it really depends on what type of healing you want to do. Do you want to buff your party or heal the crap out of them.
